John Coleman
"As an artist, every year seems to be better and more exciting than the year before. I'm especially having fun with the medium of painting and expanding the subject matter of my sculptures. This year, I'll have a bronze of a cowboy, which is rare for me.
One of the great joys of being a member of the Cowboy Artists of America is that it spurs growth among its members. It is a requirement of the CAA that all work for each show be new. I personally enjoy and embrace this challenge.
At last year's show, I was honored to have received the gold medal for my life-size sculpture 1876; Gall – Sitting Bull – Crazy Horse and the first recipient of the Anne Marion Best of Show award for the same piece."
Next April, John will once again be teaching a workshop at the Scottsdale Artists School.
John is a Fellow Member of the National Sculpture Society and lives in Prescott, AZ with his wife Sue.
