A visit to the Nelson Art Center in Kansas City was “the shaper of my destiny,” says Loren Entz. Following that visit, Loren enrolled in the Famous Artists correspondence school, and later studied under Richard Schmid and Bettina Steinke, both of whom he admires for their direct approach.
Many of Loren’s paintings are started and completed on location. “The results in my paintings are most rewarding and satisfying to me as an artist when I work directly from life and nature....I achieve a spontaneity that is so often lacking when work is done from photographs in the studio.”
Loren’s versatility with charcoal, pencil, oil and watercolor, and his dedication to details have won him various awards, including Gold and Silver honors from CAA and a Jurors Award from the Northwest Rendezvous Show.
Loren has been a member of the Cowboy Artists of America since 1992. “I’m proud of my association with the CA group. My desire is to steadily grow as an artist.” His new studio is located in an historic building in Billings, Montana.
